About this Book: | |
MY RANGERING DAYS deals with the early life of Bob Favor and continues through his career both as a Texas Highway Patrolman and that of a Texas Ranger. It begins with his early ancestors migrating from Alabama in the late 1800’s by wagon and horseback to Callahan County Texas. It also deals with the trials and hardships they faced in this relocating process. It continues on with the hard life of growing up in “The Great Depression”. It also describes the terrible life every one faced during this time in the early 1930’s. Formative years are also touched upon as well as time in the Navy. Several incidents and situations during his nine years as a Texas Highway Patrolman are mentioned. The balance of the book deals with twenty-five years in the Rangers. Also mentioned in latter part of the book are some short stories of some of the earlier day Texas Rangers who influenced Bob. All the stories and articles in this book are written in short form, with just enough information to give an idea of what transpired in each of the cases.

About the Author: | |
My Rangering Days deals with my 25 years as a Texas Ranger and before that the nine years I was a Texas Highway Patrolman. It includes some seventy different types of crimes and incidents I was involved in these 34 years. They range from serious and scary to humorous. They are for the most part written in the first person. I tried writing them as though I was sitting and talking directly to you. Additionally, I have written an account of my family migrating from Alabama to Texas in the 1800's as well as how we survived the great depression of the early thirties.
